Organized groups

Groups of twenty or more visitors whose arrival is announced ahead of time are offered discounts for tours of the cave and the surrounding area.

Trip organizers are recommended to announce their group’s arrival ahead of time and to make arrangements regarding the tour time.

Providing they have announced their arrival through the booking department ahead of time and have shown some identification at the point of sale, travel agencies are entitled to a 5-percent discount on individual available services (excluding independent visits to the Park of Military History; additional payment for special services and beverages).

All organized travel groups are advised to plan their arrival at the Postojna Cave 30 minutes before the desired tour time, as traffic congestion is possible, in particular during the peak tourist season. For the sake of tour organization, organized travel groups are kindly requested to assemble at the entrance to the Postojna Cave no later than 15 minutes before the tour to avoid any inconveniences because of delays.

Tickets for the Postojna Cave tours must be collected at the point of sale no later than 20 minutes before the desired tour time, otherwise the booking will be cancelled and the tour will only be possible at the first available free tour time. All tickets (admission fees) include basic accident insurance, visitors are therefore advised to keep the tickets on themselves until they exit the parking area.

Groups or trip organizers are entitled to a free-of-charge service for the group guide or driver, providing he/she presents a suitable ID document (a tour guide ID card or a driving licence). The use of the free service is not transferable to another person.

Arrangements regarding the meal time are necessary for all ticket packages that include hospitality (restaurant) services.

Notification ahead of time (a minimum of 3 working days before the planned tour) is required for all special tours (e.g. adventure tours) and special guides. An advance payment of 30 % is necessary. Tour participants are required to submit a written consent of participation for all adventure tours.

You are kindly invited to have a look at our additional programmes and cost-saving ticket packages.

Highlights of your visit

  • Cave train

In the past people would see the cave on foot, while today they are taken around the wonderful cave, a kilometre and a half deep into the underground world, by an electric cave train. The length of the entire two-track circle line is 3.2 km. The cave train has been taking visitors around the Postojna Cave for 140 years.
