The cave hosted frequent visits as early as the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, when it was managed by the Cave Commission. Under Italian rule it was managed by a state institution and after World War II by the State Institution of Yugoslavia, a later-time company. In 1990s, this company was converted into a public limited company, which is at present owned by the Batagel & Co Postojna (74,9 %) and Municipality Postojna (25,1 %).
