Proteus Restaurant

The new restaurant combines the rich tradition of the Karst Region with modernity.

The inside of the restaurant has seating for 60 guests and the pleasantly shaded and nicely fenced terrace can accommodate the same number of people. Culinary treats on offer include daily menus as well as dishes from the treasury of local home-made cuisine combined with modern culinary trends. Special attention is also devoted to guests who wish to have a little sit-down with a cup of coffee or a desert and escape the haste for at least a few moments. Free WiFi.

Jamski Dvorec Mansion

Just off the entrance to the Postojna Cave is where the event and culinary centre – the Jamski Dvorec Mansion - is located. The cuisine of the Jamski Dvorec Mansion is proud of its venerable tradition combined with modern gastronomic trends. Guests will be served popular dishes from the Notranjska-Karst Region, gastronomic treats from Central Europe, Slovene culinary specialities as well as sea and freshwater fishes and game dishes.

The first-floor hall can accommodate up to 300 guests and this is where corporate gatherings, wedding fairs, seminars, congresses and even some top music events are held. Even higher up, in the attic, there are several smaller congress halls.

Guests will be amazed at the architecture of the mansion and delighted with the friendly reception and excellent service provided by the Jamski Dvorec Mansion staff. We know how to pamper and surprise our guests. We can also offer you dishes typical of this region, for instance: horse and cart drivers' style goulash or delicious game. Or you can opt for any of the special feasts from the past: the medieval feast, the horse and cart drivers' feast or the imperial feast.

For special celebrations, socializing with business partners or some other occasions, culinary treats can also be served outside of the Jamski Dvorec Mansion.

Working hours

Working hours of the Jamski Dvorec Mansion are adjusted to the timetable of Postojna Cave tours, however for corporate gatherings and private celebrations the mansion is open according to prior arrangement.

Ice cream parlour

You can make a stop at the Ice Cream Parlour at the entrance to the Postojna Cave and enjoy a little rest, refreshing drinks, ice cream or home-made deserts. You can also have just a little sit-down, sum up your impressions and decide on what to see next.

The Ice Cream Parlour is open daily from April to September.

Modrijan Homestead

Have a look around the Modrijan Homestead, which consists of the Lower Mill, a residential building and a sawmill.

The inside of the mill with a long-standing tradition is where millers' work is presented; the stone door frame of the farmhouse still features a clearly visible year 1593 chiselled into the stone, as well as initials W. H. – relating to the former mill owner Wolfgang Huber. On the ground floor of the residential house visitors are served home-made snacks, fresh home-baked bread, delicious dry-cured ham, cheese and wine, while children are pampered with home-made cakes and pastries. During the summer months, home-made treats are also served in the shady garden.

The Modrijan Homestead is open daily from April to September.

Self-Service Restaurant Briljant

Pizzas, tasty lunches, ice cream and grilled treats can all be enjoyed in the same place, at the Self-Service Restaurant Briljant, located on the renovated ground floor of Hotel Jama. Visitors can choose to sit and have a meal in a number of different yet interconnected surroundings: a pizzeria, a courtyard of a farmhouse or a Karst house, as well as a terrace and an outdoor grill. There is something available for every guest, every taste and every budget. Free WiFi.

The Self-Service Restaurant Briljant is open year round, the opening hours are, however, adjusted to the Postojna Cave tour timetable.
