Several adventure tours of the Postojna and the Predjama cave systems are available. Participants will visit those parts of the caves that are not open for regular tours, experience more demanding passages, cross over water obstacles and relive the exploration of caves.
Adventure tours are done in small groups, guided by experienced guides and divided in three difficulty levels: visitors can choose between walking around beautiful caves that are not part of regular cave tours and proper caving tours to test their endurance and climbing skills.
Get to know the hidden beauty of the Postojna Cave and the vast intertwined network of its passages. Several adventure tour options around the Postojna Cave system are available:
- Postojna Cave and the Small Caves,
- Coloured Passage and Lower Tartar,
- Pivka and Black Caves,
- through the Postojna Cave into the Black and Pivka Caves,
- Coloured Passage, Lower Tartar, Postojna Cave, Black Cave and Pivka Cave,
- Otok Cave.
Also available are three separate visits to the Predjama cave system that are not part of regular tours of the Cave under Predjama Castle. Tours of Erazem's Passage and the East Passage have been designed for more daring visitors and also available is a guided walk to the Wind Hole.
Instructions for visitors
Notification ahead of time (a minimum of 3 working days before the planned tour) is required for all adventure tours. An advance payment of 30 % is necessary. Tour participants are required to submit a written consent of participation. The hire of suitable caving equipment, whenever necessary, is included in the price. Warm clothing is recommended: long sleeves, long trousers, warm socks, rubber gloves and some spare clothes.
