Other Postojna Cave Park Attractions

There is no need for your visit to start and end with a tour of Postojna Cave – you can combine the cave tour with a number of other interesting experiences and adventures.

Visit the baby dragons and their cave-dwelling friends, who you can get to know better in the Vivarium. Enjoy learning all sorts of things presented in our interactive exhibition about the karst and an exhibition about the evolution of life on Earth. All this and more awaits you in the green karst landscape, where you can enjoy pleasant walks accompanied by the soft murmur of River Pivka.

If you have tickets to several of the Postojna Cave Park sights, you can use all of them – except the Postojna Cave ticket – within 30 days of collecting the tickets at the ticket office.

Expo Cave Karst - Three Exhibitions

Expo Cave Karst is the world's largest exhibition on caves and the karst. The exhibition pavilion is located at the front end of the Postojna Cave Park promenade. In addition to the exhibition on the karst, it houses two other interesting exhibitions: Life within a Billion Years and Butterflies of the World.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office (no online purchase is possible).

Vivarium

The Vivarium is a place where everyone, from children to scientists, enjoys learning about the animals that live in the dark depths of the subterranean world. It is located right behind the entrance to Postojna Cave in the Passage of New Signatures.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office (no online purchase is possible).

Black Cave and Pivka Cave

In the Postojna Cave Park, you can also walk through the wonderful Black Cave and Pivka Cave. The entrance to both caves is near the village of Veliki Otok by the Postojna–Predjama road. Both caves can only be toured with an experienced guide.

Otok Cave

The entrance to this beautiful dry karst cave is in the village of Veliki Otok by the Postojna–Predjama road. The tour is suitable for all visitors who can manage an approximately 45-minute walk along an easy path.

Cave under Predjama Castle

The entrance to the second largest Slovenian show cave is, as its name implies, under the Predjama Castle. A regular tour of the cave is not included in the Predjama Castle tour. The tour takes around 45 minutes and is easy enough to be done by children from the age of six.

Other levels of the cave can be seen as part of adventure tours, which require some previous caving experience and a good level of physical fitness.

The Secret Rooms of Hotel Jama

The documentary experience takes an hour and a half. It starts at the reception of Hotel Jama, where you will meet the guide. The tour is available in Slovenian and English. It is suitable for adults and children over the age of 15. The group size is limited to 6 people.
